FUMCN Weekly Update 10/5/08

Monday, Oct. 6 (4's) and Tuesday, Oct. 7 (3's): Class Pictures

Picture Day is Monday, Oct. 6, for 4's classes and Tuesday, Oct. 7, for 3's classes. The kids will go in small groups to the room upstairs in the church to get their pictures taken. All kids will get their pictures done. You will receive the proofs in a few weeks, and you can choose what you want to purchase. There is NO order form to fill out before the pictures. We will also have a whole class picture done.

We need 1-2 people from each class to help shuttle the kids during pictures. If you can help, please sign up in the hallway.

Monday, Oct. 6 (4's) and Tuesday, Oct. 7 (3's): Class Coffees

Class coffees will be held during your child's class on Monday, Oct. 6 (4's) and Tuesday, Oct. 7 (3's). Come to the Wesley Lounge @ FUMC after you drop off your child (if coming from the parking lot entrance, go up the stairs and turn left into the lounge). Ms. Juli will share info about class journals, and you can brainstorm ideas with fellow parents for our Auction on Nov. 7.

Friday, Oct. 10: 4's Walking Field Trip to the Fire Station

The 4’s will be walking to the fire station on this Friday, October 10th. Drop-off and pick-up at FUMCN will be the same times as usual, although you may want to prepare your child for a change in our daily routine.

Friday, Oct. 10: Under the Big Top Celebration

Join us for a FUMCN family event! Stormy the Magician will be performing in the FUMC Sanctuary at 5pm, followed by a pizza dinner and delicious dessert in the Social Hall at 6pm. A $15 donation per family would be appreciated. Please RSVP by Wednesday, October 8, with the number of attendants to Lisa Ziegler at timandlisaz@hotmail.com or 734-665-3297.

Pumpkin Donation List

The Curriculum team has put up a “Pumpkin Donation List” in the hallway across from the B-Room. We are asking for donations for pumpkins for some activities in October. If you can donate any, just take a pumpkin off the list and bring it in by the date specified. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

3 PM Class and FUM-Fives Still Have Openings
FUMC also offers a wonderful FUM-Fives program. This program helps prepare your young five year old for kindergarten in a fun, creative environment with an emphasis on learning skills. The class meets 5 afternoons a week with teachers Ms. Sherry and Ms. Susan. There are still openings available for fall in both FUM-Fives and the FUMCN 3 PM class. Contact Sarah Boren-Rao with questions regarding the 3 PM class. For more information regarding FUM-Fives, click here.
