FUM-Fives – a special place and a special year to get ready for kindergarten
At FUM-Fives, we offer children a fun, creative environment with an emphasis on learning skills that will help their start in kindergarten. Like kindergarten, we have a circle time to discuss the calendar, weather and daily jobs. We work incenters every week, with a focus on learning to work independently. The following subjects are incorporated in our yearly curriculum: math, reading and writing, cooking, science, social studies, drama, music and movement. We also include “specials” like they have in elementary school, such as library. All of these activities revolve around a particular weekly theme which often ties in with a local field trip and a specific choice of books. Our class has a maximum of 12 students, with two teachers, Ms. Sherry and Ms. Susan, in the class. Please contact either of us to set up a time to visit our classroom and see what we’re doing!
